Malik

Malik is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and recording artist. Born in Atlanta, his influences stem from a plethora of generations of black creative music, drawing from modern jazz, classic soul, neo-soul, hip hop, and gospel music, all while still maintaining the incredible creativity and spirituality of the Atlanta soundscape. He has been selected as an Ambassador for American music culture in a cultural exchange program in China, and has played for several political figures, including First Lady Clar Marie Duncan Weah of Jamaica and Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett.

Malik holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from Valdosta State University. In addition to teaching music, Malik regularly plays on stage with artists including as Zacchae’us Paul, Morgan Guerin, Gengis Don, Stratøs, and many more. He has also been in collaboration with Broadway for Racial Justice in the production of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and received the First Chair position in the GMEA All-State Band.

Malik loves teaching, sharing his love for music with students of any age who want to find joy in creating music themselves.
