Behdad

Music has been a big part of Behdad’s life since he was 10 years old. Back then, he didn’t have a piano to practice on – he used to tap on the kitchen table until, one day, he came home from school and found a beautiful black piano waiting for him in the living room. That was the moment everything changed.

Since then, he’s dedicated himself to practicing, performing, and teaching piano. Behdad gave my first lessons in 1992, and although he took a short break while working as an engineer, music always found its way back into his life. Over the years, he has taught both privately and in music institutes, and in 2023, after moving to the U.S., Behdad began teaching with Imagine Arts, where he’s enjoyed exploring new methods and introducing fresh approaches to teaching music.

What Behdad loves most about teaching is the joy of seeing kids light up when they master a new song. Those little “wow” moments remind him why we do what we do – because music is not just about notes and technique, it’s about connection, growth, and joy. Every time a student plays something new, it feels like a small celebration for both the student and the teacher!
